| The museum is now closed on Mondays. The week of September 3rd through the 7th, the museum will be closed for maintenance and cleaning. The museum is open on most Decatur school district holidays. |

From Springfield on Route 72:
If you are driving east on Route 72, leave the interstate at the first
Decatur exit (133A) onto Route 36 East following signs to Decatur.
Continue on Route 36 for 7 miles through Decatur. After crossing Lake
Decatur at the east side of town, turn right at the first stop light. This is
the intersection of Route 36 and Country Club Road. Continue on
Country Club Road for about 1/2 mile and you will see the museum on
the right side of the road.
From Champaign on Route 72:
Driving west on Route 72, leave the interstate at exit #144. The sign will
say RT. 48 to Oreana and Decatur. At the end of the exit ramp you will
turn left driving south to Decatur, RT 48. Turn onto 22nd street and go
over the Staely/William B. Sands Viaduct. The total distance from RT 72
is 5 miles. Just past the viaduct you will come to the intersection of Rt 36
where you will turn left fallowing signs to Tuscola and Mattoon. Drive
about 1.2 miles and you will reach the intersection of RT 36 and Country
Club Rd. Turn right onto Country Club Rd and fallow the right side of the
fork in the road. The Museum will be on your right.
From Bloomington on Route 51:
Continue South into Decatur on Business Route 51 for 4.5 miles until
you reach Eldorado Street (Route 36). Turn left following signs East to
Tuscola. (Be sure to stay on Route 36 at A.E. Staley Manufacturing
where the road curves to the right). After approximately 3 miles you will
cross Lake Decatur and come to a stop light at the corner of Route 36
and South Country Club Road. Turn right and continue 1/2 mile to the
museum.
