| STARLAB: An inflatable dome and portable planetarium system that sets up at your school and can hold up to 30 students. This silver "igloo" can be used for several programs and rents for $100.00 per week or $175.00 for two consecutive weeks. Persons or schools renting STARLAB must attend a training session. STARLAB training will be available at CMI on Tuesday, November 6th. Please call the museum for more information. STUFFEE: Stuffee is a seven foot soft sculptured "doll". His colorful reproductions of lungs, heart, stomach, and other organs teach children about health, nutrition, and how their bodies work. Stuffee and a museum presenter can visit your school for a one hour presentation. The fee per class, maximum 30 students, is $60.00 for schools in the Decatur city limits. For schools outside Decatur city limits (includes travel fees) is $70.00. If Stuffee visits two consecutive classes the second hour is $50.00. Or you could choose our 45-minute Stuffee Discovery Workshop, plus 45-minutes of museum exploration time is available at CMI October-April for pre-school-3rd grade, and costs $3.50 per student(minimum 10 students). Dig our Dinosaurs: Kids love our Dino dig! It can be used for a classroom activity, parent's night, or a science fair. The Dino Dig consists of 4'x4' platform with four shoe box sized dig boxes filled with plaster and wooden mallets, chisels, and toothbrushes are also included. Rental is $30.00 per week (one platform) or $50.00 per week (two platforms). Extra dig boxes are available for an additional $5.00 each. Ready Set, Lego!: Our Lego racing ramp is another fun-filled learning activity that can be used to teach the laws of physics. The ramp fits on an 8' table, and comes complete with Lego pieces and race flags. Rental per week $50.00. |
