Summer Camps!!
For ages 3-5, 5-7, & 7-11

Pre-School Kaleidoscope Camps 2010
Pre-school camps are designed for children ages 3-5
who are potty trained.

Pre-registration & Pre-payment are Required.
Cost per camp: $10 CMI members; $15 non-members
(with exception of special events)
Sign up for all 7 pre-school day camps & get a reduced price
of $60 for CMI members or $90 for non-members.
(excludes special events)

Cancellation Policy: Cancellations made prior to 14 days before camp will receive a
75% refund. Cancellations made within 2 weeks of camp will receive
a 75% credit for
another camp or special event.

Treats and Drinks are served at every Pre-School camp.
TENNIS SHOES ARE REQUIRED!! WEAR CLOTHES THAT CAN GET MESSY!!


Rainbow Fish
Children will learn the importance of sharing as
they listen to the story. We will make a beautiful rainbow craft
and even fish in the museum, too!

The Backyardigans
Yeehaw! Learn the ropes of the West as we
ride the range with The Backyardigans!

Planting a Rainbow

As children listen to the story, they will learn the
colors of the rainbow and that water, sunshine, and soil help plants grow!

very own seed to grow at home!

The Very Busy Spider
Perfect for bug lovers! Come meet Charlotte,
the Museum spider and learn all about the busy life of a spider!
Children will learn how many legs a spider has and will
get to make a very fun spider craft!

Chicka Chicka Boom Boom
“A told B, and B told C, I’ll meet you at the top of the coconut tree!”
Children will learn the letters as we sing and dance
our way through the alphabet! We will make a fun letter craft
and parade around the museum!

Monsters in the Museum

Here’s your chance to play with your food…

Dinosaur Dig
Dinosaurs are fun! Come dig for fossils, hunt for dino eggs,
and learn all the wonders of these extinct species!

Self-Guided Field Trips
Self-guided field trips include a brief orientation with a museum staff person,
followed by 1 hour (basic) or 2 hours (extended) of hands-on exploration of all
museum exhibits.  Mess Hall (cafeteria)seating for 60 is available for scheduled
groups at no charge.
The Mess Hall must  be reserved in advance.  Reservations
are subject to availability
.  

Available Field Trip Times:
9:30, 10:45 a.m.12:00 noon, 1:15 & 2:30 p.m.

Field Trip Admission:
basic (1 hour ) $3 per child; minimum of $30   
 Extended (2 hours) $4 per child; minimum of $40  
                                                                          
(1 adult admitted free for every 5 children; additional siblings & parents are $3
per person)

Workshops and programs are NOT available on Mondays or tuesdays, with the
exception of bodywalk. Those wishing to make a reservation for any program or
workshop need to have a minimum of 10 children.

Reservations may be made by calling 423-5437 during regular business hours:
Monday-Friday, 9:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m.

GET ON THE BUS! CMI has bus transportation money available for BodyWalk in
March and Basic field trips during the months of October, January, and
February.  Due to budget constraints, only one $100 grant per class during
this school year will be allowed.  There must be a minimum of 20 students per
class.  Funding is for bus transportation only.

WORKSHOPS & BOOK BASH DESCRIPTIONS

Body Walk: 2nd Graders Only
All second graders are welcome to attend this cooperative effort
by CMI, Macon County Health Department, and other community h
ealth organizations. This is an action-oriented learning experience
about health and nutrition.
Grant funds are available for transportation.        
Cost: $3.50 per child       
Grades: 2nd Graders ONLY        
Dates: March 9th-12th and March 16th-19th        
1 hour in classroom and 1 hour in museum

Underwater Adventure Workshop
Join us for this ocean-themed workshop where children
will learn the many wonders of the deep blue sea.  
Make an ocean in a bottle craft and explore the museum.  
   
Cost: $4.00 per child      
Grades: 1st – 3rd Grades       
Dates: April 7th-9th, April 14th-16th, and April 21st-23rd       
1 hour in classroom and 1 hour in museum

“Rainbow Fish” Book Bash
Children will hear the story “The Rainbow Fish” by Marcus Pfister
and learn how important it is to share.
We will make a beautiful rainbow fish craft,
enjoy a yummy ocean treat, and explore the museum.  
      
Cost: $3.50 per child       
Grades: Pre-K – Kindergarten        
Dates: April 7th-9th, April 14th-16th, and April 21st-23rd        
45 minutes in classroom and 45 minutes in museum

2009 - 2010 Discovery Workshops
For school scout, or other groups. These programs are
offered to groups of 10 or more.
